Merge Projects and then edit - Video Studio 9

Post by nuppard »

I've edited several hours of holiday video as three separate projects
to allow 3 DVDs to be created. But I'd now like to add the second and
third project to the end of the 1st - so that I can then edit this down
onto 1 DVD to create a short version of the holiday video as one new project.
I cant find a way to do this that will allow me to edit the added
projects - there only appears to the option to add in the whole .vsp file -
which does not separate titles and audio etc.
Is there another approach that will allow me to combine the original
projects but still edit them as if they were now one project without
having to edit each original video clip (captured by scene) and add on
titles and audio again?
Thanks

I think the easiest way is to 'share' the projects as video files, and then import them together as avi's into a new project.

A VSP is only the instructions on how your project is constructed - clip A goes here, music track goes here, titles go here, etc. A VSP is not a video file, thus it cannot be edited.

What you want to do in this case is open the particular project (VSP) that you want to change, make your edits, then save it. Now you can add your re-edited VSP to the first one to complete your project.

Thanks for the replies. Re-editing the 3 projects as new projects and then adding them together sounds like a workable solution.

I've tried this quickly to see how menu chapter editing is handled and it still allows chapters to be created from the added .vsp file.

Thanks again.
