Hey,

I used DVD Pictureshow v1.0 a while ago.
Lately, i had a computercrash, and of course, like every good computer user, i don't have a proper backup.
But some pics are on discs written with DVD Pictureshow.
Not a complete lost, but always nice to have them on computer.

Is there a way to 'recover'/'restore' the images from the disc towards my hard disk in a, let's say, jpg format?

Welcome to the forums,

First I've never used DVD PS, so I'm not familiar with the format it may/may not use. I would suspect possibly the UFO for images(PhotoImpact uses it) or something similar to VideoStudio's VSP. If the images are saved in a format that is proprietary to DVD PS, then it will take that program to convert them to JPEG, BMP, TIFF, etc.

Most all of Ulead's applications are backward compatible, meaning the current version can open project files from earlier versions. Have you tried downloading the trial version of DVD PS4 and using it to convert those images? With theTBYB (trial) versions you have 30 days to play with it, and hopefully that should allow you ample time to recover those precious images..:)

When you created your slide show with DVD Picture show it did not copy the images but simply used them to create a video. They are no longer images they are movies.

Hi Brononi,

I don't know if this particular feature was included with PS Version 1, however Version 4 has an output option to include photo, video, and/or project files to your disc. These are contained in individual folders, seperate from the slideshow itself. I would suggest you "explore" your disc(s) and see if any such folders/files are available. If so you could easily copy them to your computer.

Also, many of the current DVD/Multimedia player applications include a "Screen Shot" option which allows you to take snapshots in a variety of resolutions and file formats (jpg, bmp, etc) by clicking the "capture" button while the disc is playing. Your newly captured snapshots will be automatically saved in a folder (usually somewhere in "My Pictures"). Your captured images won't retain the full original quality but at least you'll be able to salvage them.

Good luck!
