Post by Thetracer »

Hi, I ripped the videos from my Handy cam CD onto my PC. I want to make a DVD by making a menu etc, I opened ulead videostudio 11+ and when I imported the clip onto the storyboard, the clip was playing and showing upside down. When I burn the DVD will the video come upside down ? if so how can I fix this

Can you right-click on a video clip in either the library or your timeline, select properties, and post them back here?

Please post the make and model of your camcorder, so if need be we can look up information about it.

This is the first time I recall someone having their video clips appear upside down... :o

Also Please Read This.. which is a sticky at the top of this and most all forums. It is there to provide you with guidelines on information we are going to need to best help you..

Hey, this is from the ulead timeline, also as a side note: when I want to play the video in VLC it always needs to be repaired first.. just incase that helps

File

File format: Microsoft AVI files
File size: 98,884 KB
Frame rate: 25.000 frames/sec
Duration: 603.960 seconds
Data rate: 162.14 kbps

Video

Compression: DivX 6.4.0 Codec (4 Logical CPU)
Attributes: 24 bits, 720 x 576
Total frames: 15,099 frames(s)

Audio

Compression: MPEG Layer-3
Attributes: 128 kBit/s, 48,000 Hz, Stereo
Total samples: 28,984,320 samples

Thats just one of the videos, I have many more, but all from same camera so I guess nearly if not completley the same properties.

EDIT: The camera is
Sony DCR-DVD755E
here is a link to it
http://www.digitalrev.com/en/product_de ... em_id=1057
Also I brought it from Malaysia, so I dont think it is PAL version like the one on that link

Ah Ha!!! The DivX codec :)

I don't know if this will correct it, but you might try upgrading your DivX codec. The current codec is 6.7 ( I just got a pop-up notification of this. I was using 6.6).

Glad it works now..:) I did download the manual for your camcorder. In reading through it, if you're in Malaysia, then it is a PAL camcorder. However by looking at your video properties I can tell that those are PAL video properties. PAL = 720 x 576; 25fps, where NTSC are 720 x 480; 29.97fps..

Hey, well I use a program called 'Cheetah DVD Burner' works with wonders. Just another question, I have made the project using Ulead Videostudio 11+, with the videostudio editor method, how do I now save this as video, not as project.

I also have Ulead DVD moviefactory 6+, but I dont see any menu templates that I like, anyone know where I can download anymore?

EDIT: I am actually living in UK, just brought the camera from Malysia

You need to Create your video file. The "video clips" in your timeline are not the actual video clips. They are linked to your clips/images. The project file, is just instructions, so VS knows what you want done with the data from your source clips. Your source clips will not be altered.

So with that, go to Share>Create Video File. Select DVD, which will produce a DVD compliant MPEG-2 video file. You can use that in DVD MF6+ to create your DVD.

There used to be a template or two found on Ulead's website, however they seemed to have taken them down. With PhotoImpact you can create your own, or customize existing templates from VS or DVDMF.

Hi,

I believe a program/util called SUPER may allow you to rotate video?

Is there a way to make all pictures have the same duration?

Post by Thetracer »

Hi, I have around 200 pictures that I am trying to make into a video clip, when you simply put them onto the time line they last for 2-3 seconds, I know how to change it individually, but for 200 pictures that will take hours. Is there a way to set a particular time for all the pictures, like it is possible to use the same transition effect for all pictures.

That's also found under File>Preferences. On the Edit tab, the option default inserted image/color clip duration. Just change the number in the spin-box to the right.
With VS11+ after you have your images inserted to the timeline, you can change the duration by first highlighting all the image clips. Left-click on the first image to select it, then hold down the Shift key, go to the last image, click on it. Once all image clips are selected go to the Clip menu, and the first option change image/color clip duration, will open a dialog where you can change the duration for all the images you have selected..

in VS 11+ just hit the rotate button on the Edit Panel. + or - 90o. I've recently shot some "doggie view" footage and had to do it upside down because of the tripod I was using.
