Ulead Videostudio v10 q's (+ing tracks/snapping/rendering)

Post by kzero0 »

can't seem to find a search button on here :?
read through a couple of pages but not all 243pages of posts

so
if this is a repeat
I'm sorry

I'm not too familiar with Ulead Videostudio10
which kind of explains why I'm here XD
(I was used to using premiere)

anyhow I'm encountering some problems

Q1. Is it possible to add tracks(video and/or audio) to the timeline?

Q2. Video clips dragged onto the first timeline tends to snap to the
previous clip (for example ABC), is it possible to cancel this cleverness?
(for example I can drag clipsABC-> A B C
and have however much spacing as I please?)

Q3. Is there a "render work area" button? (like in premiere)
I have this red bar which won't go away, any data NOT with the red bar range cannot be view. STRANGE

feel free to leave any thoughts :D
thanks

Q1. Have you read the "Help" files? Look at "Overlay" section.

Q2. The top video track will always snap added assets to the left. To avoid this use the overlay tracks - See Q1.

Q3. Rendering you work would be achieved going to the Share tab and creating a new file from your work.
The red bar is the "preview" selection. You can get rid of it by placing the mouse cursor to the left then the right dragging it all the way to the end of the timeline. It iwll then disappear.

I will just add that the search button is found at the top center of every page, under the Corel User to User Web Board, and immediately to the right of FAQ.

When on the search page, be sure to read the options presented. There are drop-down boxes that allow you to narrow your search to a specific forum(s). So instead of searching the entire web board for a VS related answer, you can just search the VS forum.

Use keywords that best describe what you're looking for. This will help narrow down your results.

You can also elect to have the results displayed as Posts or Topics. Displaying as Posts, you will get to read parts of the results, Topics just returns the Subject, which may not tell you what the post is really about, for example a subject of "I need Help with VS", does tell you much. That post may have information you're looking for.

What I do when searching, is elect to have the search Return the first 800 characters of posts, which is found to the right.

Hope that helps you... Oh and you can also just click SearchImage to get to the search page.. ;)

Not sure what you mean by your Q1 - if you are using version 10 you have two video and two audio tracks, if you are using version 10plus you have seven video tracks and two audio tracks - you cannot add any more than that.

If you do want to use the top video track and have spaces between your video clips then simply drag a colour block from the 'Color Library' and place it on the top track and set it's length to the required gap before inserting the next video clip.

The behaviour observed in your Q3 is correct as you have selected a section of your video as indicated by the red line above your video - if you want to undo the selection drag the left 'mark in' indicator under the preview window to the extreme left and the right 'mark out' indicator to the extreme right. To render your video go to 'Share >> Create Video File'

very useful :D

1. video tracks solved with overlay tracks
however as BrianCee pointed out audio only has two
so I have to edit somewhere else :(

2. solved with overlay track

3. didn't notice I pressed an in/out point on the main clip
