VS11.5 Currupt Transitions
Hi,
I have a registered version of VS11.5 and have been using VS since V7.
After upgrade to 11.5 and bonus packs I know have some currupt transitions under 3D (Flying cube, board, fold and folding box) and ALL transitions under Album?
The transitions can be seen on the menu but when I try play or incorporate them into a project the name of the transition starts off normal then seems to change to non english characters?
How can I replace them without having to reinstall the program?
Where are they stored?

I think you will need to reinstall or at least do a repair install (if you have the CD) to correct this. I know that on Vista machines some of the 3D transitions simply do not work.
The transitions are located in the C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\vfx_plug directory.

Transition repair
Hi,
Running XP Pro.
All upgrades are from downloads including 11.5+ and bonus packs.
Are the Transitions I mentioned part of the standard pack or BONUS pack?

Transition Fix
Hi,
If I install 11.5+ patch does not fix problem.
if I try and install 11+ It asks me to uninstall!!
No FIX OPTION which would have been nice.
I cancelled the Uninstall and checked VS and all my links to my additional video and pictures have now gone!!!!
I guess I can now go ahead with the uninstall anyway!!

TRANSITIONS
#####.,.....
After uninstalling VS11.5 Plus and re-installing 11 Upgrade (after hunting down my serial... used the one off my VS8. I still find the transitions are %$@#
Now all the changes made are gone and still have transitions that dont work!!
I think a 'REPAIR OPTION' would have been nice!!

Transition fix...
Hmmm
well after re-installing VS11+, 11.5+ content pack and powerpack I will now start adding all my custom settings back in.
Maybe some kind sole could zip and send the working transitions to me?

Don't think it works like that -- there are a number of other associated files, including .dat ones which get written and include information specific to the computer on which they are loaded. In other words, just because they work on one computer doesn't necessarily mean they will work on yours.

In fact building upon what Ken has said, Ken had a problem with Album transitions in a previous version and to try and iron it out, Ken and Myself tried to do what you have suggested in an effort to nail down the culprit file.
After a couple of months - we gave up. Ken's problem was only cured after he re-installed Microsoft Windows - bit drastic that though.

R-Format?
Hmmm dont think I will go that far...
Just a little annoying.
Especially when 90% work fine.
I would have assumed that an UNINSTALL and Re-install would have fixed it?
Enven to get down to some transitions from same type work!!

That was the first thing Ken tried!Accolades wrote:......I would have assumed that an UNINSTALL and Re-install would have fixed it?....
Troubleshooting a problem is a process of elimination, Sometimes a problem can be solved quickly and easily and at other times it can be a long drawn out hair pulling venture.
Look for the easy solutions first and try those.
When that fails spend a few moments and try and think of what alternative courses of action are available.
Re-installation of the Operating system is a last resort and must be considered very carefully before adopting that route. Some problems can be tackled with the "is it worth pursuing this problem" approach and putting up with a minor gliche.
One of the first things to look for regarding your missing transitions is that they exist on your hard drive. The default location for transitions in VideoStudio 11+ is
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\vfx_plug
The machine I am currently using has 144 files in that folder but this includes 24 Burger Transitions

Transitions
Hi,
The transitions are not 'MISSING'. They are currupt, ie thet start of with the name and have currupt text at the end ie 'transition^$%@?'
This is why I assumed the Uninstall and reinstall of the whole program would have fixed them.
I have 121 files at 1.91mb in the xfv_plug directory. I assume this is the defsault as I have not added any Burger transitions as yet.
I suppose I can go chase the Burger link and see what else I can add.

My 3D transitions were always problematic
,even after a clean reinstall of windows. They only started working lately after installing the recent update packs and at the same time the latest 'directx update (November 07), not sure which one fixed them, but they all work as designed

Clearly your transitions are corrupted as evidenced by the strange file names.
Try renaming the folder
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\vfx_plug
to
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\vfx_plugOLD
Download and unzip this

Maybe don't rule out a virus
There's an outside chance that the problems are caused by a virus. Do you keep your anti virus software up to date, and use firewall and anti spyware programs?
