Heroglyph Demo and VS 11 PLUS

Post by susiegriffith »

I just upgraded to VS 11 plus. I didn't see any cool sports themes templates. What third party products work in 11PLUS?

I downloaded the Heroglyph Demo but get an error msg and it won't run. (states that exe is not a valid Win 32 application.) What does this error msg mean?

I am surprised you are getting an error message with Heroglyph. I don't have that package, but I have several of the related Adorage packages (transitions) which are on the same www.prodad.de site. These certainly work with Video Studio, either as a stand-alone or with a plug-in.

I also have the Canopus VideoFX package, which works well with VS with a plug-in which is elusive to obtain. In fact, I am not even sure the VideoFX package is available any more.

Other users have Boris F/X packages, but I don't know the details.

I am currently downloading the trial version of Herglyph to see what happens, and will report back.

EDIT: On downloading the trial version and trying to start it up on my Vista Home Premium computer, I got the same Win32 error message. Curiously, the proDAD site said the download was 78 MB but the download stopped at 52% and said it was complete. Initially it said 'an external program' was needed to install the trial, and should it start that external program. But nothing started. After waiting a couple of minutes, when I clicked the icon again, I got the error message.

FURTHER EDIT: Worried about the apparent small download, I tried the download again. This time I did not turn off the proDad download page (which was about when the previous download cut out). This time it downloaded the full 78.1 MB (previous one was much less than that). It installed flawlessly this time, and indeed on first looking at the program in action, I am impressed. Will play around with it some more this coming weekend.

Please click here --> Image so that we can then view your system specifications.

My bet is this user has Vista - Ken - to save me booting up one of my Vista drives can you confirm heroglyph works with Vista.

Yes it definitely works with Vista. Haven't yet tried it on my XP Pro machine. But as you will see from my Further Edit above, once I succeeded in downloading the full file, it installed without a hitch and looks quite impressive from an initial play-around! Tempting ...

Reading Ken's post persuaded me to try this out. I'm currently downloading it. Once done I'll try it on my XP machine to see what happens.
