UV11.5 Plus Upgrade? HELP!!!!!!!!

I have just purchased Ulead Videostudio 11.5 Plus upgrade from the UK Coral site.

I had installed on my comp Ulead Videostudio 11. I have just tried to upgrade to the new software.

First of all the installation removed UV11 from my system. It then tried to install UV11.5Plus. After enetering the correct serial numbers of both my new then old software an error message comes up saying i can not upgrade from UV11 to UV11.5 plus.

There was no mention of this when I purchased the upgrade, or am I just failing to notice something really stupid here.

A very pissed off!

NOTE - I'm not 100% sure about any of the following, so wait for what others have to say before you panic.

That's probably true... What did the website say for "upgrade requirements"? (The U.S. website doesn't show 11.5 yet.)

As I understand it, the FREE Update Pack is supposed to give VS11+ the same capability as VS11.5+

So, I guess if you had the regular (non-plus) version of VS11, you would upgrade to VS11+, and then install the free update pack.

If you think you've purchased the wrong thing, you might try contacting Customer Service (not tech support).

I agree with DVDDoug. The 11.5 Plus upgrade is for existing users of 11 Plus. See the following page and read the red print at the bottom of the first update patch.

The second one, states it is for VS11 and VS11+.

Now that being said the Ulead (UK) site just advertises it as Coming Soon. However Corel is keeping with their excellent track record of confusion. They do have it for sale. Here is the upgrade eligibility requirements:

Upgrade Eligibility

To purchase the upgrade version of VideoStudio 11.5 Plus, you must own a previous licensed version of:

* Ulead VideoStudio 6 Retail/Upgrade/SE/SE DVD /SE VCD/SE Basic
* Ulead VideoStudio 7 Retail/Upgrade/ESD/SE/SE DVD /SE VCD/SE Basic
* Ulead VideoStudio 8 Retail/Upgrade/ESD/SE/SE DVD /SE VCD/SE Basic
* Ulead VideoStudio 9 Retail/Upgrade/ESD/SE/SE DVD/SE Basic
* Ulead VideoStudio 10/10 Plus Retail/Upgrade/ESD/SE/SE DVD
* Ulead MovieWizard 1.0
* Ulead MovieWizard 2.0 DVD
* Ulead MovieWizard 3.0 SE DVD
* Ulead MovieWizard 4.0 SE DVD
* Ulead Video ToolBox 2.0 Full/HE/ME
* Ulead Video ToolBox 2.5

It appears that VS11 or VS11+ does not qualify for this..

However have you tried going to the Ulead (UK) site and downloading the upgrades posted there? You might see if those will install. If not contact Corel customer service, explain the misunderstanding. Hopefully they will rectify the situation.

Erm.... why would you purchase a VideoStudio 11.5 upgrade when you are given a FREE update patch? and also this..

I did post in an earlier thread called STUPID STUPID STUPID that the FREE UPDATE PATCH could not find my version of UV11 on my machine.

I have the same problem, that the installer can't find my installed VS11+. I posted the problem description in the "Announcement: Ulead VideoStudio 11.5 Plus /Power Pack/Media 1".

Have you tried what Steve (sjj1805) suggested about 2 posts up? Since you have VS11/11+, the upgrade/update is free. Download and install it.

That's probably the reasoning behind Corel not including it in the upgrade qualifications. You should not need to purchase VS11.5.
