Question re: Rotate, pan and zoom

Post by arsfool »

I am new to VS8. Can you take a photo and have it rotate from -45 degrees to +45 degrees and zoom in on the photo as it is rotating? I have VS8. Can either VS8 or VS9 do this? I am working on a project, and a quick response to this question would greatly be appreciated.

My suggestion to get this effect is a little time comsumming but should work.

1) Place the picture in any photo editor, turn the picture slightly and save.
2) Do this several times, each time tuning the picture a few degress and save the picture to a file name.
3) Take each picture the you changed the angle on and place them in the timeline, and create a video file.
4) Place the video file in your project and use the zoom/pan, and viola!

This process will take about 20 mins to complete but should work pretty good.

I guess this will lead to a bumpy effect that will result in a headache while watching.

Why not accomplish the effect with Cool 3D? Just an extra keyframe. Very smooth. Export the video. Import it in VS en do the panning / zooming over there.
