sound...NO sound?

Post by the_original_sniper »

I just bought a new computer with a PNY video card and an IEEE adapter. I plugged in my analog camcorder and tried to capture video. I get the video just fine in AVI format but I do not get any audio. The audio is coming through my computer speakers but it is not being recorded.

Any help would be appreciated. I have never done any of this before but am really interested to learn. I have many video tapes I want to put into a DVD format.

Thanks and merry Christmas!

Check the mixer settings to make sure you are recording from the correct source. Double-click on the volume control in the System Tray, or go through the Control Panel, and make sure that the source is set to Line In or Aux, not Mic.

You can confirm correct functioning by going to Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment -> Sound Recorder, and recording a WAV file from the configured sound source. If it works there, it should work in UVS as long as you specify the correct device.
