I'm a new VideoStudio 11 user. Before you ask: Yes, I have read the manual, I have searched the Corel knowledge base, and my cables are all connected properly and my system volumes are set. I have downloaded the latest patches and my version number is VideoStudio 11.5.0157.2 Plus.
I am attempting to capture analog video from an SVHS VCR through an AVerTV Combo PCI-E TV tuner/capture card. When I start VideoStudio from a clean reboot, I can capture the VHS video, but I get no audio. If I go into capture options/video properties and change my video source to the TV tuner and back to SVHS, I get sound and picture for about three seconds, which tells me that the AVerTV card is working properly. But after three seconds the preview screen goes black and I lose both audio and video. I can get it back for three seconds at a time by changing the sources again, but the only way to get the video back for more than three seconds is to reboot - and then, again, I get no audio.
It appears that VideoStudio has more than one issue with this card; while I can select the HDTV (ATSC) tuner in VideoStudio there is no way to select a channel to capture that I can see.
Has anyone else reported similar problems, or does anyone know of a fix or a workaround?

Unfortunately my card did not come with capture software¡Xonly drivers.Clevo wrote:The immeadiate work-around is to cature using the software that came with your card. Then import that video file into VS to edit.
From what I have read in previous responses from similar problems is that capture cards generally work better with the software that's been tweaked to work with it.

S-Video cable from the VCR to the card for video; 2 phono cables from the VCR through a Y-adapter to a stereo mini phone plug into the card. (I experimented with plugging directly into the LINE IN jack on my sound card as well.) See http://www.aver.com/mpd/support/downloa ... lation.pdf for details.Ken Berry wrote:Exactly how have you connected your VCR to the card? S-Video plus RCA composites for audio, or only RCA composites for all three (Video + R/L audio)?
