Blu-ray movies don't work?
I purchased a pioneer bdc-202 bundled with windvd 8. The first couple of movies BD's played just fine. Then I purchased "spiderman 3" and all I get is a black screen that says play in the top corner. I just received two new BD mlovies today and both freeze at the windvd screen and the PC crashes and reboots? When I try a previous BD movie it works fine all dvds work fine. I purchased this software because it was supposed to be a solution the BD playback and so far I have only been able to watch 4 out of 7 movies that I own?

I guess you are having a compatibility problem with newly released BD movies.
For the black screen issue of "Spiderman 3", try not to play WinDVD in full screen to see if the movie title could be played correctly in window mode. If so, it's a bug of WinDVD and should be fixed in some newly updated WinDVD version 10 month ago. If the video still cannot be played correctly in window mode (but audio is OK), then it might be a content protection issue of WinDVD related with the video card driver (it would happen on some special titles).
For the freeze issue it might be complicated, but mostly happened when your display card driver is not up to date.
Try to update the video card driver to see if it could fix the issues. I could see your video card is based on nVidia chip, you can go to http://www.nvidia.com to download the latest driver for your video card.
Also may I ask what's the build number in the version of your WinDVD, like 8.x.yyyy?
WinDVD 8 is been released for years now, but the build number yyyy would change from time to time (depends on when you buy the product). The larger the build number, the newer the software (and fixes more bugs). So if updating the video driver does not help, contact Corel to see if you are still qualified to get an updated WinDVD build.
Hope this helps.

OK, it's not working after you update the video card driver.
Now you can check some video options in WinDVD to see if it helps. Right clicks on the video window you will see a pop up menu showed up, select Options (or is it "Preference"?) you should see the Options dialog to appear. In the Option dialog you need to switch to the Video tab, and check for hardware support options on the top. If they are been checked, uncheck them both and clicks on OK, and then see if WinDVD can play your BD movies correctly.
If it's still not working then it's a compatibility issue (or a bug of WinDVD) with your new BD titles and there's nothing else I could help, you need to contact Corel to fix.
About the WinDVD build number, you could right clicks on the Player panel and then select About. You should see the version number like "8.0B.xxxx".
Hope this helps.
