Titles Not Aligned Properly

Post by lyca »

I have Media Studio Pro 8 and I have a particularly puzzling problem...my titles aren't aligned properly in the final output. This means that in the Preview Window it shows the titles perfectly aligned, but once I create the video itself the titles are out of place, sometimes even out of frame.

I happen to have a wide screen (19 inch) LCD monitor...might this be the cause of my problem? Any ideas?

Thanks. :D

Are you taking into account "title safe" area? A television crops the image on all sides. Sometimes it crops more on one side than another. Make sure your titles are in the 'safe' area. There is a button that draws a red box. This is the safe area.

Nope, it's nothing to do with the safe area. As I said, it's perfectly aligned (centralized) within the safe area. The preview window shows the same. But the final output differs (the titles get moved to the right, somehow).

As you don't tell us what you are doing, not even your project settings, how can we tell?

I suspect you may be working in DivX, XVID or similar?????

Yes it is.

I'm creating a title clip, as I said before. The text appears aligned (I've aligned it to the center) in the preview window, but on the final output (created video file), it then moves to the right, with some parts of the text out of the frame. And yes, I'm working with DivX. Is that the cause?

EDIT: I've found the cause- the display aspect ratio in the Video Save Options was set to 4:3. Since I use a widescreen monitor, that must have screwed it up. It's good now. Thanks for all the help. :D
