I am unable to install Visual Studio on my HP Pavillon dv2000 lap top.
The error says "Error 2711. the specified Feature name ('Plus') not found in Feature table.
And a second box comes up:
"Error. -1603 Fatal error during installation.
Consult Windows Installer Help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information.
Support emailed back:
We suggest that you remove any instance of VS11 on your system by deleting the folder if it exists in your local hard drive. You may need to redownload the installer to make sure that you are using an uncorrupted one. Try temporarily disabling your firewall/antivirus/etc. to have better connection with our servers.
Anyway...the trial version installed and ran just fine.
After all this my question is...
I seemed to have "resolved" the issue by replacing a few of the files from the Download Full Version with a few of the files from the trial Version (with a few modifications) and have gotten it to load. It behaves slightly different...but errrr I think I have "hacked" the program somehow?! It won't take my serial number etc... I haven't run into an functionality issues though...
Is their any other "less invasive" way to get this program to run on a Vista system?
