ulead "support"

Post by cgd »

I've not need ulead's support until I purchased videostudeo 8. I downloaded and paid for it via their websight. After installing it, I registered.

Now I'm having problems with video capture (adaptec 2210) that I can't find a resolution for here. So Sunday, I send off a detailed request for help to support. I still have not got an answer. I understand one or two days but five (so far) is unreasonable in my opinion. Am I being unresonable? Is this normal for ulead? If so, I may have to start shopping around for another product.

While looking for information on their webpage, I discovered v9 of videostudio is out. Since I've only had v8 for a little over a week, I asked if I could exchange to 9. My reasoning is ... they cost the same. very short time since my purchase..... Again. No response.

They appear that they don't much care if I'm a repeat customer.

We'll try to help you here. What kind of problems are you having with the adaptec 2210?

You may very well never hear from Ulead. It's not something they do very often. And even if they did, you might want to follow up, but again you'd have to wait.

You'll get lots of very relevant, rapid, and friendly help here! Don't hesitate to come back again and again to get your questions answered the way you need them to be. And read other people's posts, too. Easier to let other people make the mistakes than to make them all yourself!

Good luck and have fun!

I believe I've read that Ulead did offer somebody a VS9 upgrade because of his/her very recent VS8 purchase. You could do a search, to see.

I called the Tech Service number listed on the web twice yesterday and once this morning. All 3 calls were answered within several min and they were very helpful. When I bought ver 8 I asked that question and Tech Support told me within 30 days. I would call them

Sorry I took so long getting back....

Update

I received an automated response to my technical question and no answer yet.

I called about the upgrade from v8 to v9. They responded within minutes with a link to my upgrade.

Here is the problem I'm having with now v9 and the adaptec 2210 usb capture device. v9 seems to detect it ok but there is no preview showing up.

Screen Shot of Default

So I just tried a capture.....

Screen Shot of Capture Error

I attempted to look at the capture configuration. as soon as I clicked on the capture tab.....

Thanks for your help.....

Check the latest driver for your Adaptec VideOh! DVD (AVC-2210) device in http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/suppor ... VC-2210%29

However, the driver is only optimized for Sonic MyDVD and is possible not comatible with Ulead products. You might need to capture with MyDVD and edit in Ulead.

Or you can contact Adaptec to ask them to provide compatible drivers.

It's an old issue, and I remember Adaptec only provides supports for MyDVD only.

Hope this helps.
