Hi there! I just installed Video studio 11 now and ready to edit my video's stored in miniDVD discs created from a canon Camcorder. I just realized it can't be edited because its a VOB file. I've tried free software from the net but they all give me crap providing bad conversions.
Need suggestion about VOB to AVi conversion software and where can i get one. Whats the best setting for the software conversion.
Thank you very much!!!
VOB conversion!

Welcome to the forums,
You don't have to convert the VOB files to AVI before editing. To insert these into VS for editing just use the Insert DVD/DVD-VR/AVCHD menu command. You would then browse to the location of the VOB files.
You can either copy the files from the mini-DVD disc to your PC, or if the DVD drive on your PC accepts the mini-DVD discs, just place in the DVD tray.
VOB files are basically MPEG-2 with some additional information. Some have had success in just renaming the VOB extension to MPEG.
Converting them from MPEG, which is a compressed format, to AVI will result in an immediate loss in quality. So to limit quality loss, try sticking with the original video file properties.
Here's a couple of articles that may help...
