VS 9 and Dolby Digital Audio

Hello all. Recently I converted all my VHS Family tapes to DVD-R. The stand alone recorder (JVC DR-M10S) saved the audio as Dolby Digital. I alread have VS-8 but found out that in order to copy my DVD's and still retain the Dolby Digital feature, I would need to purchase the 30-dollar plug in from ULEAD that would enable DD to be recorded.

So here is my question: Does VS-9 already have the capability to import and record Dolby Digital DVD's? (not a purchase plug in required).

If so, it would be cheaper for me to upgrade my VS-8 to VS-9 to get both the Dolby Digital feature and the new stuff.

The difference for the (VS-8) 30-buck plug in and the 49-buck (VS-9)upgrade is too close not to take advantage of.

Can anybody address my question please?

Yes, the full version of UVS 9 includes AC-3 support in the box. The SE versions do not.
