The reason it says vstudio and not vstudio.exe is due to the way you have Microsoft Windows set up.

I think the best course of action would be to try a re-installation and accept all of the default locations settings.

I am having a similar problem (along with many others) - see my post http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... highlight=

What I have found strange is that during a full removal and reinstallation - it seems that the installer sets up a Vista version of the software. For the full removal Corel said that I should delete the following files - and I always find the files for Vista although I am running XP!!!!!!

"Go to "C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information";
Delete the folder "{E188D820-1218-4E28-8BCA-91134C3664C2}", or {F99F9E24-EE2F-47FD-AEB0-FDB82859B5C9} on Vista"

It might be worth you checking too!

Same patch install problem. VideoStudio is installed at C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11.
Version 11.0.0157.0.
WinXP control panel Add/Remove Programs knows it's installed.

I've been watching this, but I have not seen any solutions yet. I am having the same problem. I am running version 11.0.0157.0 on Vista.

I can also confirm same problem with VideoStudio11 installation. I even tried to install it on clean WinXP installation in Vmware, but this installation gives same error as one on my PC.

Technical support did not help (seems that they deal with only simple issues).

I also tried to trace installation process. It manages to find vstudio.exe, but then gives up of further installation.

Can somebody please verify that size of vstudio.exe should be 3.089.904 bytes. Studio itself reports version 11.0.0157.0

I checked the size on mine, and my PC reports the size as 3,080,360, size on disk: 3,084, 288. Of course this is after installing the patch and power-pack.

I would like to see if there is somebody on this forum who can verify size of file before patch installation (i.e. for version 11.0.0157.0), and then to confirm that he/she can install patch successfully. What I would also want to know is a size of installer package for VS11 distributed over internet. Mine is UVS11_E.exe 147.805.608 bytes. Size on disk data is irrelevant. Given package installs version 11.0.0157.0.

Also, does somebody know if people designing VS11 patch can be contacted somehow do describe what are crucial points for detection of VS11 installation. I even proposed to technical support to send them trace of system calls done by installer, but they just ignored it.

(If you want to trace calls, download ProcMon (process monitor) from www.sysinternals.com / bought by Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysint ... nitor.mspx), add all extra processes to filter and capture just installation trace until you get message that VS11 is not installed on your computer. Especially helpful would be such trace from successful installation.

I am also having this issue. I am using Windows Vista. I purchased this product lastnight as a download. I installed both VS11 and the content pack before trying to install the patch. The VS11 installer that I used was for the purchased version; it asked for my serial code during installation, which I provided. I have never installed a trial version of this product. The patch says that it cannot find my VS11 installation. I have completely uninstalled and then reinstalled VS11 only, without the content pack, and I am getting the same patch error. On a whim, I tried running the patch as admin but no luck.
I am hopeful that a solution is found because as it is, the program crashes faithfully when I try to create chapters before burning a video to dvd.

Not sure what I can suggest re the patch. But with your chapter problem, have you updated your DirectX 10 with the November 2007 patch available on the Microsoft DirectX website. Although primarily for DirectX 9.0c, it very definitely works also with DirectX 10 (i.e. Vista). And more to the point, it has worked for people having the sort of problem some you are experiencing when making and previewing chapters in the burning module.
