UVS11 Patch Problem

Post by wrc2376 »

When I try to install the UVS11 patch it ends with a message that Unstaller can not find Ulead VideoStudio 11 on your system. What would cause this message and what would I do to resolve?

What would cause this?
Using a TBYB (trial) version.

What can you do to resolve it?
Purchase a full or upgrade version.

Without more information that is the best guess I have so far..;)

Could both posters please open VideoStudio and click the Help | About
options and this will bring up a screen like this:

Image
Above the Serial number you will see the version number.
Please jot that down and then post it here including any letters as well as numbers. Thank you.

Fortunately I hadn't yet updated one of my computers and so was able to jot these down as I went along.

Original: 11.0.0157.0 Plus
After installation of UVS11_Patch_Eng.exe (27,673 KB) 11.0.0157.2 Plus
After installation of UVS11_Plus_ESD_ENG_PowerPack.exe (55,218 KB) 11.5.0157.2 Plus

Regarding the problems with the installations, could I ask users to confirm that they are installing to the default location chosen by the set up programs.
In other words, VideoStudio has been installed to
"C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 11\vstudio.exe"

And just to correct a typo in Steve's last post, after installing the Patch the end figure in the version number should be "1", not "2" which it becomes after installation of the Power Pack.

Sorry but wasn't a typo - that's what it displayed much to my surprise!

And you installed the patch before the Power Pack? I am surprised, because in the lost, long thread I first posted my sequence of version numbers when I first installed the patch (and the free Power Pack was not then available), then later the Power Pack when it became available. And the end numbers of the versions went sequentially 0 (VS11+), 1 (with patch) and 2 (with Power Pack). Others posted similarly...

I began doubting myself for a moment so I checked again by installing the patch and then the upgrade on another one of my systems.
Here are the screen shots

Ah well... Another of the great mysteries of the computer world, as I too had reinstalled on another computer and got the same sequence as I described on that one too!!

8 ) Since the UK site did not have anything for VS11 in the update section, I went to the ulead.com site and downloaded the VS11 Patch (the one that's about 27 MB in size). After installing that, I had Ulead VideoStudio 11.0.0157.2 Plus

9) Again, from the ulead.com site, I downloaded and installed the Powerpack (55 MB). I now had Ulead VideoStudio 11.5.0157.2 Plus
