OK I will leave this one open but you appear to be missing the point.
Suggesting that the software be updated to take into account developments in computer hardware such as multi core processors is something that needs to be posted in the feature requests thread.
You can discuss it between yourselves until the cows come home.
As I stated previously, Corel do not read all of these posts, they very rarely visit the forum and when they do it is normaly to post an announcement of some sort, such as a release of a piece of software or an update patch.
The only threads that you can be assured of getting the attention of the programmers are the ones I have created as stickies in various forums "Wish List for future versions." These ARE monitored by Corel.

I'm missing something here, I know one thread was locked, but after the updates it appears to me that the program is using more of the available cpu's ( if available ).Come on guys, give it a rest. OK, I just read ADBJester's post. He does & doesn't have a point. Understanding mpeg2 encoding and editing is the first point & how it's spread among the processors for parallel multi-tasking is another.
After installing the patch my computer is using all the processors, depending on the rendering codec all processors are being used and cpu usage for each one is approx 80%, maybe higher, I'd have to check again.
