How do y change the text effects in easy palette libraries?

Post by poshrat »

I have just downloaded the extra contents pack and all appears great.

Except I haven't been able to change the text effects in the easy palette library.

In the easy palette library the first effect is called S01 and there is the UPI example. When I double click on this it appears in my picture. I can right click and select edit text and change the text from there etc.

But all the others only appear as the example UPI on my picture and there is option when I right click to edit text using those other examples.

How do you edit/use the other examples?

I could do a screen capture if I haven't been clear and link it in.

If you'll look at the Layer Manager, with one of the texts you are having problems with, is should show it to be a grouped object. The first text style (S01) is not a grouped object, rather just text.

So you need to ungroup the grouped text. Do so by either right-clicking on it to bring up the menu, or using the Object Menu, or just pressing CTL + ALT + U. About midway down the menu, select Ungroup. Now when you right-click on the text, you should be able to see the Edit text option.

That works great but...

Thankyou for your answer. That works so I can edit but now I am only getting the outline of the text?? So I can edit but the middle and fullnes is missing.

The gradient in the text is missing.

I am getting the outline and the inner so if I resize one I have to resize the other. I can't merge them together as yet.

You should have 2 or 3 objects after ungrouping them. One of them may be just an outline.
So I can edit but the middle and fullnes is missing.
The middle and fullness is created by using separate text objects and then grouping them or merging. Once merged it no longer can be edited as text, so grouping the text objects allows further editing if needed.

To edited the text, you will need to edited each text object.
