Need some help. The answer is probably very simple and something that is obvious.
I using MF6 Plus and have installed the 2 most recent updates.
I have a wedding movie that I brought in as a video file and used Multi trim Video to separate it into 3 chapters (Rehearsal , Wedding & Reception).
All I want it to do is when the DVD is loaded is to come up with a menu and show the three chapters on that menu to access. When the chapter is done I want it to come back to the menu.
My problem is whenever I play a chapter it goes right on to the next chapter to the end of the video. I have the 3 Navigation settings unchecked and the Clip playback set to Back to Menu on the Project settings. Ie set and reset this several times.
Ie unchecked the Add title menu in the advanced settings so the menu looked right and when I preview it, it won go back. I don want 2 menus but I have tried it with a Title menu and when I go to the Chapter menu and play a chapter it still plays all of the chapters before coming back.
It's the same when I preview it and I've burned it and it plays great on our TV's except it plays all of the chapters before coming back.
Like I said, it has to be something simple. Ie looked through the Forum and most of the time the answer is change the Clip playback to Back to menu, that not my problem. Ie uninstalled/installed MF6 and redid the updates with no luck.
Thanks for your help!!!

Help with Chapter return
It sounds to me like your video is one mpeg2 file and not 3 separate video files.
What's happening is normal. You will need to create 3 new separate video files. There are a few methods to do this using smart-render.
I would go into the multi-trim module (not the chaptering module), and re-trim the 3 videos again. Stay in the multi-trim screen after you have selected the start & end points for the 3 videos.
Then while still in the multi-trim screen highlight the first video, click on the <-- (left arrow) and save the video clip as a separate file.
Do this for all 3 clips.
Start a new dvd project & use these 3 clips, make the dvd the same as you did before except use these clips instead of the original video. If you did this correct the videos were fast exported (smart rendered), and not re-encoded.
This should work and return back to the menu after playing each clip..

Hi there,
I have exactely the same problem but I have 3 distinct mpeg files in my project and nevretheless I find it impossible to go back to menu after each clip !
In the project settings I choose the option 'back to menu' in the Clip Playback but it does not seem to work properly.
Someone has an idea of the reason?
A bug in the software? I have downloaded the latest update.
Many thanks for your help

If it does start immediately, you have the clips as Chapters, not titles. There is a difference on how they are played.
When playing a Title (each clip on the time-line is a Title), will pause before playing the next title, or return to the menu if you have your menu playback set to.
Chapters however are parts of a Title, like bookmarks. When selecting a Chapter within a title, the video will continue on to the end without returning to a menu, or displaying any pause.
Did you create a Main Menu? Do you have a thumbnail displayed for each of your video clips on this Main menu? OR did you Create a Chapter Menu and selected each of your 3 video clips to be a chapter?

Hello Ron,
thank you for your answer.
I think you may be in the right direction but how can I check if my 3 vido clips are concsidered as Chapters or Titles? And how can I change their status if they are Chapters?
Thanks again for your help.
thank you for your answer.
Yes I created a Main Menu and there are 3 thumbnails displayed corresponding to the 3 video clips. However in the Advanced Settings of the Menu section "Add Title Menu" is in gray and therefore not an available option. Do you think it is normal?Did you create a Main Menu?
