If you want to have the following supports you would need to install the add-on components:

Windows Media Video / Audio support (WMV / WMA): Windows Media Player and Windows Media Encoder
QuickTime Movie support (MOV): Apple QuickTime Player
RealMedia support (.RM): RealNetwork Real Player

Adobe Reader is for you to read the PDF user manual.

If you do not need any of them, you do not need to install the featured component.

Only DirectX is required.

For Gibsonse, your Huappauge card seems a little old. Maybe you can check with Huappauge to see if they have updated driver for you. I guess there is something changed in the capture module of VS 11.5 so you might need to have an updated driver to get supported.

Or you can report to Corel Tech Support to see if they can have a solution.

Hope this helps.

Installation woes

Post by Zippy »

Have been working on VS11+ since it was launced... yes there were some bugs (such as someone clearly mistyping 1280 for the render to 1280xX wmv and it coming out at 208x160), but at least on my machine it was stable - unlike VS10.

I was delighted to see the patch become available as I'm just polishing off a 20 minute HD film... just on voice overs-n-stuff, you know.

Install the patch & the power pack - BANG.

Some of the audio filters prevent audio from playing in pre-render :(
Audio on an overlay track interferes with the levels of other audio :(
Some audio filters cash the app. to crash completely :(

Not wishing to discover the rest of the woes, I've tried removing ulead, putting it back on with all the various combinations of patch/power pack, and only the original one is stable...

I like ulead as an editting tool - but I'd prefer it if the thing worked.

Running an Intel Quad Core with 3GB Ram, twin nvidia 8500s, blah, blah on Vista Home... anyone got any ideas?? Meaningful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would do if I could get ulead to work :o

Don't know yet - I'm working through various copyright issues/seeking permissions for some soundtracks at present...

Looking through the forum thread - I'm guessing that the fact that my editting PC is not connected to the internet, and thus probably missing some windows updates (and the latest DirectX) might be causing my problems...??

When I try to install the update or the power pack the installer says it can't find Ulead VS 11 on my computer. I have VS11+ installed and it works fine. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the problem remains. And suggestions?

Was the version you originally had the trial version which you then, after trying it out, bought and activated without first uninstalling the trial version?

No it was not trial. However, during installation no serial is required.

When I run updates It doesn't say it is a wrong version, but instead that it can't find installed VS11.

Where did you get your copy of VS11+? I know my copy does require a serial number. I'd check with the vendor where you purchased it. Something just doesn't sound right.. :?

Please open VideoStudio and click the Help | About
options and this will bring up a screen like this:

Above the Serial number you will see the version number.
Please jot that down and then post it here including any letters as well as numbers. Thank you.

Hi everyone, this is my first post so here goes. I'm having a problem capturing analouge video via an ATI x1900 AIW using Vista 32bit, I have updated the drivers of the card to the latest (7.11), VS11+ is updated with both updates (showing .2 as the version), Directx is also updated. The previous pc we had was XP with VS8 and an old AIW card it worked fine until the pc died and we bought a new pc with Vista. The support staff at corel are less than helpful offering no real insight to why it won't work or if a fix is going to be released. The pc came with a basic Roxio package and this will capture but myself and my father both like VS, whenever you try to capture it comes up with "Unable to start capture device, check if your driver is working properly".

Any ideas :?:

The program came with my laptop. There is no serial in help/about.

Maybe that is why I can't upgrade?

I'm not at home right now but the serial number can be found in the windows registry.

The 6 November patch gives you the 2, then the Power Pack gives you the 5.

Still confused...

Post by lguerreiro »

Guys,

If the Power Pack gives us version 11.5, why did Corel charge me for the upgrade from my current ULEAD Version 11.0 Plus?...

Another point is that whatever happens with the patch and the powerpack, the original freebies libraries from the boxed 11.0 Plus version get wiped out.

The new serial number that came with the supposed upgrade does not work, it can only be installed with the original S/N from my version 11.0 Plus boxed software. In the end, it does not upgrade anything, it just delivers a standard 11.0 Plus version but wipes out all the freebies of the boxed original version.

If I try to enter the new S/N that I received with the said "upgrade" to version 11.5 Plus, the installer rejects it, saying that it is an upgrade for versions 10 and earlier.

However - this is delightful! - the Invoice and my registration details on the COREL website indicate an "Upgrade to Version 11.5", which is just not true.

What was available to download after payment of the "upgrade", was the following:

UVS11Plus_E.exe (141.185 KB)

So, clearly, I paid for an upgrade but did not get it!

It is just unbelievable...

Best regards

LG
