Ulead VideoStudio 11.5 Plus /Power Pack/Media 1
Moderator: Ken Berry
After my Vista OS crash and restore at the default, trying F1 in VS11 give the error message: "Cannot find the help file". Also, the version displayed in the "about" pop-up is 11.5.0157.1Ken Berry wrote:You click on the ? symbol in the top right of the VS screen, then select 'About Ulead Video Studio'. The version number should be 11.5.0157.2 PLUS'. You have to apply both the 6 Nov 2007 update patch and 8 Nov 2007 Power Pack, in that order, to get that number. But the splash screen for the program will still only show VS11.
I cannot preview the clips unpacked from UVS Content Pack, either in VS or W media player. A codec is missing, probably. I have installed acemegacodecpack acemcp593pro.exe but after quick time player not work and also in VS cannot be opened the mov clips.
Can advise anyone about loging in on Veoh? I receive a message that isn't available in Romania. Please note that I'm e registered user on it.
Many thanks for support.

Well that didn't work.....
The software loaded OK, it shows as ulead VideoStudio 11.5.0157.1 Plus. Is this correct for a software load of 11.5 Plus straight from the box, not an upgrade from 11.0?
Loading a AVCHD file from the new purchase, the Panasonic HDC-SD9 into VS OK but when trying to work with the file Vista fails.
Should the hardware at hand have coped?
MediaOne plus included, but where do I get the serial number from (which is required during the install)?
Thanks....

The version number you give shows that you have to install the update patch dated 6 November 2007. That will convert the final number to 2. The patch fixed some things related to AVCHD, but the main fix was in the 8 November 2007 Power Pack which you already have installed (that's the 5!)
Your computer should be up to the job. But as you will see from a variety of other threads on this Board, most people have trouble editing AVCHD and rendering smooth final versions, regardless of their computers. And I am afraid users of Panasonic SD9s have had particular problems on top of that. Has something to do with a proprietary AVCHD codec that Panasonic apparently uses.
I am not sure about the MediaOne installation. Normally, when you get a package, the other modules, like MediaOne, would get a separate pop-up once VS was installed, asking if you wanted to install it. And the serial number would automatically be inserted as part of that process. But if you try to install those modules independent of the overall install, you hit the SN wall...

Thanks for the explanation Ken, Even this early in my new "adventure" it almost seems I have chosen the wrong camcorder.
I have recorded some excellent AVCHD test files and played them back through our HD television. Am I right that, apart from buying the dedicated DVD burner, having a selection of SD cards and not being able to edit the files is what I am left with (if I wish to stay with HD).
Are there other HD camcorders that the ulead VideoStudio 11.5 will work with?

I am afraid that X2 like a number of other programs, is still not capable of handling AVCHD correctly. The program that came with your camera is, but is only capable of fairly simple editing. I am still not aware of a program that will handle all AVCHD, let alone from your camera, correctly. I happen to be in the strange situation of being fascinated by AVCHD video, but not having such a camera. Mine is a mini DV high def HV20 Canon, and I can convert that to AVCHD and burn to hybrid disc without the problems people with native AVCHD are having. That being said, I have obtain huge amounts now of AVCHD from a wide variety of cameras, and can only say that I have had no success, like all other users, with X2 in editing the video without glitches...

The program is fully usable without registering.
Where are you purchasing your copy from? If it is from E-bay or the sort be careful. There are a lot of SE versions (stripped-down versions that come with burners, capture cards, etc.) that people try to sell as full versions. Buyer beware!

1. No Official support from Corel so you would be fully reliant upon this User Board.co wrote:I'm planning on buying a used (and previously registered) VideoStudio 11.5 Plus (retail box). Is this program fully usable without registering? As I am not a registering-type-of-user anyway, what extras might I be missing if I don't or can't register to me?
2. You would not be able to win prizes in our Competitions - all winners are checked against the Corel Registration database.
Thanks for the additional information.
I just received this from Corel Customer Support Services, about transferring registrations, and thought to note it here for others with similar concerns:
"Thank you for contacting Corel. Yes, we can help you in transferring its registration in your account. For this request, we will require the seller's account's information and product's serial number."

Hi,
One year ago I bought the Movie Maker Best Bundle including VS 11.5 plus. After installing it I installed the power pack and the bonus packs as well. My product showed the version number 11.5.0157.1 Plus.
Now, after reading a lot of posts here I decided to install the update pack for VS 11 Plus to get the latest version of the product. It's 11.5.0751.2 now.
The download link I received from Corel was showing the version 11.5 so I didn't care about a possible update until today. Now I hope this patch didn't harm my product.

Re: Ulead VideoStudio 11.5 Plus /Power Pack/Media 1
I still have the updating problem, my version is 11.0.0157.0 plus, and when I try to render a 50 sec video which has panned images with HD DVD 1920x1080 it ALWAYS give me the error "Failed to encode this video" now what should I do?
when the videostudio is open the updater finds it and says it's running in background, but when I close it it says video studio 11 can not be find. this is the link I used:
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 2197502277
if you think I should install something else please tell me.
BTW when I want to download the power pack it does not accept this account, what should I do?
