I just downloaded and installed the trial version of VS 8 and when I ran it for the first time it popped up a small window that says the 30 day trial period has expired.
Anyone know the cause of this or what to do?
thanks.

Trial version first time install says 30 days has expired
I had the same thing happen on two different computers. I called Tech Support after the first time and they said there was nothing they could do about it. That the software is very senceitive about time and date changes and after a failed demo install, there was no way to do it again. That I would have to try it on another machine. I did try it on another machine with the same exact results, which really sucks!!
Yes I know that and assume that everyone else knows that also. Both of my attempts were first time installs and the second one was on a a brand new machine that just had a fresh install of XP so I know it had never had any Ulead products installed on it before. Nothing funny, just download, install and when I tried to run it, it said my 30 days had expired in the 5 min it took to install it. Gee, how time flies!
Right, you have to learn to work fast when you use these new softwares. It's the rendering that takes the longest: I'd say you'd want to allow at least two of the five minutes to that. Keep editing to one minute, allow one minute for burning the DVD, and that leaves you a whole extra minute to think and take a breath!

This is ridiculous, just happened to me on a new machine. Do they really expect me to purchase a product from them when they can't get something like this straight? I work for a s/w company and when we give trials or time based licenses, if there is ever a problem like this, we send them a little program that fixes it and can reset their time.
