Stupid Stupid Stupid!

Post by Video_guy »

I just tried to install the "Videostudio 11 Update Pack" onto my system.
when I click run I get the ulead instalation screen, then an error message pops up saying "Installer can not find ulead Videostudio 11 on your machine" tried a few times but no joy.

I then opened Videostudio 11 and tried to install with the program open, this time igot " Ulead Videostudio is curently running in the background. Please close the application and try again"

How stupid is that!

All my Ulead Products are registered and activated, anyone got any clues as to what i should do!

Cheers Chris

Which flavour of VS11 do you have -- boxed version, download version, download upgrade version, or Try Before You Buy (TBYB) version?

I ask because similar problems in the past with update patches in other versions mostly arose in the case of people with the TBYB version, especially if they simply activated the trial version, rather than uninstalling it, then downloading the full version and activating that...

no trial version has ever been on my machine, I jumped straight in and purchased the full download version.

Also I have Just been on the coral website and looked at my ulead products registered, and even tho i have Videostudio, mediastudio pro, dvd movie factory. none of my products appear in the list as registered.

Try using System Restore.

I am using the v11+ TBYB version when I try to install the "Videostudio 11 Update Pack" onto my system. it's does exactly the same thing - even when it's located in the Ulead VideoStudio 11 folder.

Something obviously wrong with the Update pack guys ( moderators etc) - not the end user systems

The update packs do not install on the TBYB versions, only fully purchased versions.

I checked and it says 'activated' TBYB - so Thank-you for the prompt response.

Either way experience has shown that if you do decide to purchase after testing the TBYB it is far better to uninstall the TBYB then download or install from CD the FULL version.
The "activated" TBYB has often been the source of problems in the past.
