What program does everyone use to capture videos. im looking for something that doesn't create a MASSIVE file and is compatible wit my DV pansonic mintape camera

Well, you are in the Corel forum so I'll take a wild guess and predict most people will say they use VideoStudio or MediaStudio.

MiniDV tape content is not captured even though most people refer to the process as 'capture'. It is simply transferred to the PC from the camera as is. The file size is fixed at around 13 GB/hour.
If you intend to capture in mpeg2 (for DVD) or other compressed formats, I do not recommend to look at software, especially given the power of your machine. Get a capture card with inbuilt hardware encoding. This will put virtually no load on your CPU and the file size is given by the encoding taking place in the card.
