Hi
I have used the DV to DVD Wizard which was successful. The burned DVD disc loads into my Oppo 981 DVD player (takes about 45 seconds to load). The main menu with the chapter points appears but when i press play the disc stops. I put the disc back into the dvd player and selected a chapter point from the main menu and the disc stopped again. Any ideas?
I have input from a Sony dv camcorder via firewire.
DV to DVD wizard settings: - capture format: DV AVI, I selected 'Burn Whole Tape'.
PAL format.
no error codes.
I am using VideoStudio 11+ try before you buy version.
Thanks for your help.

This could be for a variety of reasons. One of the most common is that the disc has been burned at too high a speed. We generally recommend against burning at the maximum rated speed for the disc. While not everyone agrees with this, if you have an 8x or even 12x blank, then burning at 4x is usually more successful. That will correspondingly rise as the rated speed of the disc increases and your burner might not even go as low as 4x. But for 16x, 18x or even 20x blanks, you should probably limit yourself to, say, 8x.
Another cause for reading problems is that too high a combined bitrate may have been used. The combined audio and bitrate should not be much above 9000 kbps, and a little lower than that would probably be better while still preserving excellent quality. I confess I have never used the wizard, so do not know what properties it uses, or more specifically the bitrate. So this may or may not be relevant.
Apart from that, some DVD players don't like certain types of disc -- some prefer -R, some prefer +R. Some don't like certain brands. Some don't like the colour of certain dyes used on the disc. And of course there is the possibility of a faulty disc.
Some people also report problems when burning to a dual layer disc. However, in those cases, the DVD usually at least plays up to the layer change point.
