I have 2 separate projects in VS 10 plus, patch 1 installed on a w2k pc, 2 GB memory, Dual Core proc, 200 GB free space on the disk.
Each main project file (vsp) refers to "sub"-project-files (chapters). The "sub"-project-files do not refer to other project-files (vsp), they refer to avi, mp3, jpg and png.
For a long time this workd fine. No my projects are about 35 minutes long.
And I observe the same strange behaviour with both projects!
When I open the main project file, vs10 crashes with the message that it tried to access an invalid address e.g. 0x00000001.
I can open my main project file only if I obey the following sequence:
1. Open the vsp file of the last chapter.
2. Save the vsp file of the last chapter without any change.
3. Deactivate the setting to check automatically the links to the file.
4. Open the main project file.
5. Link the last chapter to the conrrespondig vsp file (saved at point 2).
Now I can work with the main file.
Can anyone explain, why vs10 behaves that crazy? What can I do to avoid this behaviour?
BTW reinstalling vs10 is my daily job. This does not help!
Exception error in VS 10 dependant on the size of a project?

It might be having trouble with one or more of your source files. The more compressed formats seem to cause the most trouble. If your "AVI" files are AVI/DV (13GB per hour), then I'd suspect the MP3. If your "AVI" file is DivX compressed, that's most-likely the source of your problem.
You may have to use a process of elimination to determine which file(s) are causing the trouble.
...I've had MPEG-2 files that played-back perfectly, but would cause Video Studio (or Move Factory) to crash. All of my crashes have had something to do with the source video file.
