Mp3 Problem....

Post by bartez »

I have a problem which keeps occuring with mp3's

Say I am editing a video to fit in with a music track.

Quite often I have had the problem where I edit a piece in the middle of the video untill I am happy with it as it is in time with the music, then when I go and play the whole thing through from the beginning it is a good 10 seconds or so out of time!

It so frustrating! :x :x

This has happend with every version of VS I have had (7,8 & 9)

Anybody know what is going wrong?

How are you confirming that the audio and video are lined up correctly during the editing stage? Are you judging the alignment of your complete project by rendering to an output file, or by using the Preview?

My experienc with MP3 and VS is not that good either. All of a sudden the mp3 stops and starts again. 3 out of 10 it doesn't stop where it should. Strange things happen.

Since using Wave-files this problem for me has dissolved.

If WAV files are better to work with, does anyone know of a free MP3 to WAV converter. I have the same problems with my MP3s. You are working on the middle of a slideshow with MP3 music and you get the timing perfect and then replay it from the beginning and then the timing is all off. Very frustrating.

I have found an easy way to stop this happening!!!

If you have musicmatch jukebox, go to file, convert, and convert your mp3 not to WAV but just to mp3 again and change the kbps rate to 320 and convert.

Now use the converted mp3 in your project and all will be fine!

The problem is no more!!! :D

Audacity is what I use to convert mp3 to wav. It's free
