Ok, here is one for the pros.
I have a clip of water. The view is as if you are on a boat moving forward (but you dont see any of the boat.... but you get the impression of moving forward).
I want it to depict a submarine under the water moving forward.
I took the one clip of water and copied it and put it after the first clip.
Then i played Project. When it went from water clip 1 to water clip 2, there was a noticible jump. I would have liked the viewer to think the two clips were one.
I tried fade out (on the first clip) and fade in on the second clip.
I tried sissors clip at the front of the second clip but still no go.
But there still is the jump (albiet for 1/100 of a second, but still there)
Would appreciate any tip(s).
As always, thanks for the great help on this forum.

Hi Bob
You said (I tried fade out (on the first clip) and fade in on the second clip.)
This indicates that you are working in the overlay track, unless the later versions of VS allow this.
If you are then try the top track
You can use the cross-fade transition, that will get rid of the jump, or at least should do

the transitions appear to be helpful.... I am trying them all (the ones that look like they might work).
I am also trying to make the transition time real short.
Any tips as to the best cross over (i have not seen one labeled crossover yet). and any tips on timing etc .
But, it does look like the best resolution for jump transitions from one clip to the next.

Hi
Click the ¡¥effects ¡¥tab
In the library select F/X page
The Cross Fade should be there.
Transition length.
When using transitions, VS overlaps the two video sections by the length of the transition.
The default length is in File Preferences-Edit (at 1 sec I think)
You can change the length in the timeline by selecting the transition and dragging the yellow trim bars, or select and change the duration of the digital clock.
