pasting pic into another/making it the same texture b&w

Think I have decided to go with the b&w rather than try to color it.
I have a person, I have to put in with several others. They are both older pictures, but the picture of the one person is clearer. I paste it into the other picture. It is a lot clearer though. The other picture looks somewhat degraded. I have tried to change the focus some, also add noise. Also tried blur tool. Still looks quite a bit clearer, though I may be looking at it too much,

Perhaps a couple of screen shots may help elicit a few ideas.
