MSP or Video Studio ?

I am a neophyte. I have used Video Studio for several years.
I am currently planning a project for a client . The project involves a video I am shooting which shows the client speaking and then while the voice is continuing to talk the video dissolves into photos of the client invovled in various activities, then back to the video of the client speaking. I also need to be able to do the same thing in the second scne but this time the voice needs to continue while the video dissolves to a power point slide and then to some scanned documents that will fade in and fade out, while the voice continues without interruption then back to the voice.

Is this easier to accomplish in MSP or Video Studiol. I don't need to do a whole lot of effects to the video. My main goal is to have the voice track synchronize with the video but continue, while the video dissolves into photos or scanned images or power point slides.

What is the best way to go?
