MF5 and missing disk space

Post by Jimbob »

I am currently having an issue with my disk space getting used up everytime I create some DVD's with MF5 and wonder if anyone knows what might be the cause.

Basically my XP system has been stable and auto updates are turned of, however since installing MF5 and creating some DVD's I have lost my remaining 2gb of free space on my c:\ drive. I then used partition magic to give it an extra gb of space but afte rcreating a couple of more disks I am now out of space.

I found a folder called 'cache' on the c:\ drive under Ulead and delete over 800mb from there. That helped but it seems to have still taken almost 2gb of space.

I know it's not the temporary working files which you can click on to empty the trash on the burn screen as I have that set to the d:/ drive and when I click on it it does empty.

Does anyone know where else Ulead keeps cached or temporary files as I am 100% it's MF5 casuing the problem. The low disk space only pops up when creating a disk.

It usually takes about twice as much temporary space as the final DVD. So, you'll need almost 10GB of free space to burn a full 4.37GB DVD. That's in addition to the space for the original file.

If you have another drive, I think there is a way to use the other drive for Movie Factory's temporary files, but I don't recall where that setting is.

Thanks for the quick answer, I have checked my settings and I am using a different drive (d:) for the temporary files which it creates when making the DVD. However it also seems to be using up a lot of the drive space on C: when creating the DVD as well for some reason, I thought it would just use D:
