Hi All
I'm trying to capture analog video using a Pinnacle DC10 Plus card. I've got video in the preview window ok. In the Capture Options the source option is greyed out. On the Capture Tab, in the Source option it lets me select the DC10 there. I'm trying to capture into AVI format and all the other settings are basically the same PAL settings I use with my digital capture.
When I "Start Capture" the preview goes black, the counter does not advance and after a couple of minutes it automatically stops. Then I get a Ulead dialogue box that says "No initialization"
I'm trying to do something for a friend who needs it urgently for a family gathering in the next couple of days. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did your DC10 come with it's own capture program? If yes, use that.
In VS, did you change to an analog capture plug-in? I doubt that your DC10 will allow you to capture analog to DV-AVI but I'm not at all sure about this. Refer to your manual for the DC10.
You may have to capture in mpeg.
Does your digital camcorder have an AV-In port and/or allow for pass through? You may be able to capture your footage that way in DV-AVI. It all depends on what you have and how you connect it.

Thanks Heinz
It came with Pinnacle Studio 7 but I don't have that on my machine. I also tried to use Windows Movie Maker but basically the same thing is happening.
With the Capture Plug-In, I couldn't see anything on the list that seemed relevant.
I've tried in MPEG with the same result.
Unfortunately neither of my digitals has pass through.

Unfortunately the chances of you using VS in conjunction with a Pinnacle product are pretty slim. They tend to tweak their products to only work with the included software...usually Pinnacle...go figure. It may very well be that only the included software will be able to effectively communicate with the card.
