Will Upgrading Solve My Problem?

Because I do not specifically address something someone has posted, doesn't mean I haven't read it - I get what the problems are, but I don't care about all of that. All I want is the end result.

I downloaded DMF 6+ trial version, installed it, and captured via my Plextor PX-M402U - which had sound and audio in preview, but after capturing, when I stopped capture, got a message saying that Capture Failed. So now I'll be looking around the forum for postings about "capture failed" messages in DMF6+.

I'm more familiar with DMF than UVS.... so I think I'll pursue that product as a possibility for my use.

My settings have been "Do Not Convert Compliant Mpeg Files" - I haven't altered my process - with DMF3, everything was fine; with DMF4, it was not...

I'm looking at DMF6+ because I have Vista, and it recognizes the Plextor, and does preview video and audio - now I just have to figure why it isn't saving the captured file (it will show it is capturing, but when I click "Stop Capture" then says the Capture Failed).

Have you checked the Plextor Website and update the firmware / software and drivers for your device.

And whether you like it or not, you are ignoring what I and others are telling you. Mf3 might have worked with the Plextor device because it was tweaked to do so. MF6 might recognise your device, but it still won't capture, will it???

As I also suggested, and has Steve has now repeated, have you checked the Plextor website to see if they have an updated version of the software -- ANY software -- which might work with your device, because Heaven Knows, and you might not want to hear it, nothing else will!!!
