Okay, I admit it, I'm a nerd without the nerd powers, but basically I'm trying to hook my XBox 360 to my computer, an HP Vista with a Hauppauge HVR-1600 NTSC/ATSC tuner built in, and some extra A/V inputs. For some reason though, Ulead 11 won't accept the tuner, while Roxio, which came with my computer, will accept it just fine! Please help me, I'm in over my head (as usual).
Edited for precision: Sorry, I forgot to say what version of Ulead VS I have. I have Ulead Videostudio 11 Plus.

I did get what you said but you missed my point, VS11+ is not tweaked to work with this TV tuner card and, hence, you cannot use it to capture from it. You have to use the software which was tweaked by the makers of your hardware to work with it.
If the quality is so bad, complain to HP or Hauppauge. Maybe they can advise on how to get better quality with the bundled ROXIO software.

itiscoming,
Your devices company has it's own capturing software, wintv2000 and some other captures from Hauppauge. The Hauppauge line of cards use hardware based compression, you may have to finetune the capture settings of the default templates & save them as a new templates. But with the hauppauge series of cards most of the work is done in the card, so it's best to use the Hauppauge capture software if you can, then insert the videos into VS to edit them.
When I used VS11+ trial & captured from a Hauppauge PVR150 it worked very good, including the tuner.
