Hi,
Has anyone actually got .m2t files (imported avchd files) to run smoothly on the timeline.
In this I mean as part of the project, not running as a clip.
I've tried with and without smart proxy enabled and it still wont work - the picture is like watching a bad slide show, changing every 100 frames or so and the audio sounds like Norman Collier on a bad night.
My system specs are pretty good and I have set up an editing profile for my machine.
Editing any other format is not a problem (dv avi,mpg2, mpg4 all no problem)
Just wondered if you had any ideas
Thanks,
Wayne

Hello again,
Its okay, I've worked it out.
You have to give Videostudio time to create the smart proxy file, once you have enabled it.
You don't realise this is happening as its going on in the background - I only found out by chance when I clicked on the smart proxy manager.
I imported my .m2t file, enabled smart proxy then went away for a while - when I returned it played the m2t file like a dream.
The only problem with this, of course, is it's time consuming, especially if your doing a large project.
Thanks for the reply anyway
Cheers,
Wayne
