Sample Video won't play anymore, clips/stutters

Post by kelleen »

I imported the 'Sample Video' that came with my boxed version of VS11+ into the Video Library. Clicked on it and watched it in the preview window. Worked great. Next time I went to watch it again, (the same way) it is all choppy, it clips, audio is messed up, doesn't play correctly.

I haven't made any changes whatsoever on my computer between the two times I watched it. I closed out all programs in the background each time. Have 2G ram, dual core processesor, 2.6HZ, 500G hard drive.

Any suggestions?

If the video was in the extra content, then it uses the Indeo codec, and my understanding is that the Indeo codec is not compatible with Vista, which I see you have on your computer... Mind you, if this is the case, then the mystery is why the video played correctly in the first place.

But it would be useful to know exactly which video sample we are talking about.

Sounds like your project properties are set to PAL and you are playing an NTSC video.

Check to see what your project properties are.

That depends on where in this marble (planet) you are located. USA uses NTSC, while places like UK and Australia, uses the PAL television format.
