Thought I would share this. It is only intended for a slide show and so will probably only be displayed for a few seconds. With that in mind there was no need to be too fussy, but I think it gives an idea of what can be achieved with computer software.
That's amazing Steve. How did you rebuild that with so much original missing???
Thanks & regards.

Don't have time to do a set of screen shots at the moment so will simply explain in simple language.
Think of the photo is comprising of 3 areas.
1. The Wall on the Right
2. The Wall on the Left
3. The Door
There is of course a 4th area - the two girls - but we do not need to enhance anything there.
Firstly tackle area 1 the wall on the right. It is not as bad as it may first appear, there are a couple of tears and creases that are easily painted over with a clone brush.
Having repaired the right hand wall we now tackle area two, the left hand wall. This is simply a matter of copy/pasting a bit of the wall we have just fixed on the right side of the photo. Look again carefully and you will see.
Now for area 3, the door. Most of the work here is a matter of copy/paste the good bit of the pattern from the part of the door behind the girl on the right. Build up a right hand section of the pattern a bit at a time.
To do the left hand side is simply a matter of copying a bit of the (repaired) pattern and pasting into a new image, flip the new image horizontally and then paste it back into the photo.
To finish off the door use the magic wand to select an area and press the delete key leaving behind a black background.
Polish it off where necessary by further use of the clone brush.
Thank you Steve - that's a great tutorial (even without screenshots).
Thanks & regards.
