Im on 10+ and it works fine. I use dvdws for authoring though. Having gone through the pain of both those products co-existing, i dont want 11+ to break my dvdws and vice versa. I also have no use for hd or blu-ray or whatever that new format is. One also gets nervous about the stuff posted here but many do run 11+ problem free. When one invests so much time in ones vsp files and you have software that works with them, one needs alot of convincing to change.
I myself upgraded from 10+ to 11+ mainly because I didn't have PI at the time and the UVS11+ upgrade bundled with PI12 full did not had a big price difference than buying PI alone.
Leaving the OS and HD stuff aside , here is the few new features I really like in 11+ (I am doing SD only on XP).
- If you use overlay tracks a lot, 11+ is a lot easier to use as you can see them all in the preview window
- Color correction has white balance tool that is very easy to use. You can achieve the same in 10+ using the color balance filter but not as simply.
- That might look thin but the cue points make are very helpful so you don't mess the chapter points.
- Smart package to send all the source of a VSP to a certain folder.
- Title rotate.
- VS11+ is a lot more stable than 10+. So many times I had the "memory cannot be read" in 10+ and the program to close. Had to re-open, redo the last edits that were not saved, do more edits until another crash. I don't have that in 11+. Just this was worthwhile for me.
