Ulead DMF 4 Launcher BUG!!!

Post by San_kev »

Hello

I just Installed (before I risk to buy) the trial version DMF 4.0 and when I run the "Ulead Launcher" (which looks nice) during loading, starts shifting/moving upwards/right on my desktop, every time that an icon from the launcher pop-up or every time that I move the mouse.
And at the end I cannot click anywhere inside del launcher, (but I can drag it and put it again in the center of my desktop).
The only way to run DMF4 is within Start Menu.
I don't have any problem with my old ver2.0 and my PC is quite good:
P4 3Ghz 512MBRam 3DGraphicsCard ATI RADEON® 9600 PRO 128MB

Have you seen this before???
if this new ver works like this in my PC, I'm keeping my old version 2 or 3

Thank You
Sankev

I have no problem with the launcher on my machine. It works fine without any mouse or jumping problems. So, it isn't a general bug. There must be something in or on your machine that is causing a conflict.

Hi,

Are you running at least 1024x768 screen size?

Also, do you have "Hydravision" running or some type of virtual
screen sizing resident program running.
I would try to disable some of the ATI features such as Magnify,
hydravision.

Ulead DVD MovieFactory is a wonderful program and best on the market.
But v4.0 has two VERY LARGE problems.

1) It doesn't work in 800x600 anymore. It's impossible to believe this strange restriction, programmers always can fit window to 800x600. I say as developer.

2) Launcher looks very cool! Why it draws so slowely! I know you use layered windows and they should. But it seems that you use SetPixel/GetPixel to draw alpha blending of buttons and another elemens. If use direct access to scanlines it should fly and provide at least 100 frames per second.

With best regards,

It takes an awlfully long time to load, several, several seconds. Using 2.4 Intel with 786 ram. does it take a long time for everyone else?
Thanks,

Thank You all...

Still happening, I've dissabled Ati "Hydravision", I'm runnign 1280x960 32bit colour, I've disabled Stardock ObjectDock, but no fix...
Anyways, I'm not using DMF4 launcher, just made shortcut of what I need, DMF4.

Also... I read about the dmf4 extra content (345MB) for more menus, titles, transitions, effects etc. I downloaded and try to run it, but is telling me that cannot find DMF4 installed in my computer.
This Extra content doesn't work for TRIAL version?

Thank you all again.

As usual, extra contents will NOT install on TRIAL versions.

For the launcher, I believe it's made by some Flash animation engine. Please try to install the latest Flash player from http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/dow ... kwaveFlash and install the latest display card driver from http://www.ati.com and see if the problem can be solved.

It works in my ATi system with the latest Flash player and ATi Catalyst 5.1 driver.

Hope this helps.

Has anyone else noticed that it takes a long time to load, or is it just me?
Thanks

PAINFULLY slow to launch and to respond to clicks on buttons, controls...etc.
This did NOT happen with MF 3...

What gives?

I would download the program again and re-install on top of
the existing installation.

You may have a bad download and something's wrong with the
executable file.

Etech: On my machine (a 3 GHz laptop with a normally slow laptop hard drive) it takes about 10 sec to bring up the main interface and almost 20 seconds to open an actual program component. I don't consider that painfully slow, but it is a rather complicated program. How does this compare to others?

The Splash Screen does take some time to load.
The program doesn't take to long on my laptop.
I wouldn't call it fast at all.

The program does work on my systems.

You can run the executable file(s) directly and bypass the splash screen
by running the executable directly from the ulead MF directory.
I think it's the same as MF3 which is DVDMF.exe

Hope this helps,

I don't know what you are all whingeing about. I have a p2.8 and it loads amost instantly and I can use the buttons immediately! I only have 512MB RAM.

If you load the individual components rather than the splash screen, it loads quite quickly. Is that what you are talking about? It seems to be the fancy white interface that slows things down.

I'm using a 2.4ghz, 786 ram and it takes about ten seconds to load the launcher and about 5-7 to just load MFIV
