Image issue

Post by mames1701 »

When I import a high rez image in jpg or tif format it is all jagged and crappy looking....what is the issue.

When I create DVD it still looks bad.

Also I put a moving background on the main track line, but when I put the videos on the overlay line it won't let me add transitions and I can't seem to create more than just the one main video track....

High resolution images need to be resized by the program to come down to the relatively low TV resolution. The higher the resolution (image size) is the more data is going to be discarded by VS, resulting in unacceptable quality loss.

It is generally recommended to use a good image editor like PhotoImpact, PSP or PS, to resize the images closer to the resolution/image size accepted by your TV standard.

In addition to resizing my images to a 4:3 frame size in PI, I also save these as bmp to avoid a further step of compression being applied.

My images come out crisp and clear. Prior to adopting this process, the images from my 4 MP camera looked better than the ones from my 8 MP. Now there is no difference between them because they are resized to the TV frame size/ratio.
