Sanyo HD2 HD files cannot be seen in Movie Factory 6.0?
I have a new Sanyo HD2 which came with Ulead Photo Explorer 8.5SE Basic. This program is used to off load video files from the camera to my Vista Home Premium PC and works well. The videos can be viewed in this software. The camera also came with Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5.0LE but I installed DVD MovieFactory 6.0 instead. Now, when I try to load my saved video files (HD and standard) into 6.0 to be edited, it does not recognize Sanyo Mpeg4 file type? Any idea, other than converting each file, why this is so and waht can be doen about it? Thank you.
I'm guessing that you will have to install MF5SE (special edition) to read the highdef files, then I would export them to highdefinition mpeg2 video files. This is their equal in quality but they are easier to edit & also use in other programs.
I think it may be important in the order of installation if you want to use MF6+.
First un-install MF6+, then install MF5SE to work with your cam, export some Highdefinition videos in mpeg2 format.
Then install Mf6+ and you can import the mpeg2 highdef video files created from MF5SE. I don't know where the plug-in is for MF5SE for that codec and how to copy it over to MF6+, nor that it would work.
You may want to contact tech support, maybe they know how to make MF6+ work with the mpeg4 codec that MF5SE is using.
