how to use m2ts files
Hi. New to videostudio-downloaded trial version as premier elements does not seem to work with sony hard drive HD camera (HDR-SR1). Reason i got VideoStudio is that I heard that it is supposed to handle m2ts files. However, I can't seem to get it to work...I was trying to improt the m2ts files that were downloaded from the camer into the studio but it did not seem to recongnize the format. Do i need to use capture? I so, can I do it via a USB cord or do i have to use firewire (or whatever its called)? Please help-I just want a quick & easy way to edit all my videos without having to go through all the conversions...

You either have to use capture from camera or hard drive
segv,
You have to use the capture function to get vs11+ to recoginse the files, which is a pain if you've used PMB to import them from the camcorder to your hard drive. I made an earlier post with istructions on how to recreate the directory structure, which seems to work fine with VS11+.
If you haven't imported the files using PMB, and the files remain on your camcorder then use the capture function to pull the files into VS11+. Another option is it use Windows Explorer to copy the entire directory structure you a directory from your camcorder to a local drive on your computer and then import them to VS11+.
