I currently have VS10+ and it works great. The only issue is I use Windows Vista, and have to use a virtual machine WindowsXP to use certain decoding outputs.
I was going to buy the upgrade to VS11+, and thought I would try out the trial version before buying it. As is posted in many other places, my Sony HDV camcorder wouldn't stream to the capture plug in, and gets the error message that the capture plug in couldn't initialize.
The trial version of VS11+ only includes the IVI Capture plug in, not the HDV plug in that was included in VS10+. Can anyone with the full version of VS11+ confirm if there are any other capture plug ins, or if IVI is the only one shipping right now? I can't tell if the trial version purposely restricted capture plug ins, or if they simply don't exist yet. There's no need for me to purchase the new version if it's not going to capture video.
Thanks!

The IVI capture plugin is the only one with VS11. They changed it totally with 11 from the various ones in 10 and below. I think they figured it as a sort of one size fits all solution but it has fallen very short of the mark. There are supposedly patches on the way as well as a new 11.5 version so you will have to wait and see.

I have this problem with Vista, I have a Canon HV20 and when trying to capture HDV via VS11, I get the message "check if your video capture driver is working".
This is surpirsing as I can capture footage via Pinnacle and Nero using the Vista operating system.
I have tried swopping my system to XP and found that VS11 will capture footage normally.
Surley Ulead/Corel should not be stating that this program is "Vista compatable" when it is clearly not. (UK trade descriptions Act??)
