I've always set the swap file to a fixed size rather than have Windows work out the size from set limits.
I've also always set my pc's up with an operating system and programs partition, and separate data partitions - and never experienced the "linkage" problems that Bob733 refers to.
On a couple of the pc's, the swap file is even on another partition in order to minimise the size of the backup image of the c: partition.
I've always made extensive use of registry cleaners and defragmenters, and all the other "housekeeping" programs.
In all my time using VS from 7SE Basic up to 11+ on two pc's and four laptops, using XP Home SP1 and SP2, and XP Pro SP2, I've not experienced the VS closing error.
All of the above leads me to believe that perhaps the prime cause of such errors lies with the pc's and not with VS. There are just so many crazy things that people do with pc's.
Having said that, Vista adds the possibility of driver problems - so it's perhaps doubly important for Vista users to update to the latest drivers and bios.
VideoStudio (11 Plus) has encountered a problem...
