Video Studio Crashing

I am on VS11.5. The crashes described by members of this forum followed me from VS9 and VS 10 etc. Yes we save a lot - which shows we don't really trust the program.

However, I switched to Premier Pro in Dec '07. Guess what? Same crash - same annoying screen message - followed by same MS offer to investigate problem.

Well - maybe not UL/Corel's problem alone - but would be glad if anyone could offer a fix?
Thanks in anticipation,
Chris

As you found out, this is not limited to one program. There are so many variants as to what causes programs to crash, that it is very difficult to say do this and it will fix the problem.

As you read in the previous posts, some thought this was due to having too many clips in the Library. Well, Blacklab proved that theory wrong, when he suffered a crash with a very short clip..

I've had various VS programs crash, freeze, and just up and disappear, unknown why at the time. Most of the time, I just fired it back up again and had no problems.

When you have a crash, try looking in the System Event Viewer (Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools, Event Viewer). Look in the Application and System for entries that have a Yellow Triangle. These may provide clues as to what's causing the crash..
