I use GIF Animator.
Prepare your short video with VideoStudio and export it in a suitable format that GIF Animator can use.

You have to go to the share tab and then select create video and choose custom - or if you want to do this on a regular basis use tools - make movie manager and create a template.

Then you have to create a video file that suits your particular purpose.
To create this example I used these settings:
Microsoft AVI files
24 bits, 40 x 30, 25 fps
Frame-based
XviD MPEG-4 Codec
No Audio
Image

You then import that video into GIF Animator and create a GIF file.

I can't find XviD MPEG-4 Codec. I tried to look many hours and no luck. I have only MJPEG Compressor. it cannot get GIF Animation.

Microsoft AVI files
24 bits, 40 x 30, 29.97 fps
Frame-based
MJPEG Compressor
No Audio

I can only wonder what search parameters you used. I simply opened Google, typed in 'XVid codec' and immediately got pages of results. The first was a link to www.xvid.org where you can obviously download the codec!

The XVid codec, once installed, will appear as one of the Options under the AVI tab. When you go to Share > Create Video File, and choose .avi as the format, click on the Options button, and there will be a drop down menu listing all the codecs which use .avi as their extension. Xvid should be amongst them.

No need to buy winzip - download and use the trial version.
It is fully functional.

Do you have the program GIF Animator? It's a Ulead program. BTW Winzip is a Corel program as well. 8)
