I have a 50 minute source AVI on video A. On video B, I have about small 10 clips spaced through the length of the video. I want the B clips to overlay track A in full screen mode. I have both tracks at 16:9 widescreen. The problem is that when I expand B to fill the 16:9 frame, it all looks good until I render. After rendering, the overlay is smaller than expected. If I tell B to display as full screen, then after rendering, the clip appears to be 4:3. Since it is on top of a 16:9, I can see portions on the right and left of the 16:9 clip underneath. How can I accomplish this?

Hi
I have edited the last few videos in wide screen, but it took me a while to get the hang of it.
VS 8 seems to want to view the 16:9 clips as 4:3.
You have to set the project properties to 16:9 before you import any clips.
Importing clips to a 4:3 project then changing to 16:9 does not seem to work
From file / preferences tick ‘show messages when inserting first video…’
Start a NEW PROJECT
Insert one of your 16:9 clips.
From the info window select details to view your video properties.
Check that you have indeed got a 16:9 frame.
Select YES to change the project settings.
Do you get better results in the preview window?
