tweaks to enhance?

Hi all,
not new here but my login musta been jettisoned when new system created....anyway came across this link for tweaks which may/may not
be helpful with relation to video editing and PC

Potentially very useful, but scary!

Has anyone done this and experienced good/bad results?

There's nothing scary about that -- it turns off the thumbnail generation in Explorer by changing the name of the COM object registration key. Explorer won't be able to load the component that is responsible for generating the thumbnails for AVI files, and it will fail silently. If you change the name back to the original value, the thumbnails will start working again.
